Sweet 16
I added some of my own touches to these pre-printed pages. I used Sweet-leaf and Olive Inks. I used the Number solo's "1" and "6" and the circle stamp from the June stamp of the month "With Love".
June SOM D1284 With Love
Items used:
Creative Basics Boom-Di-Ada Collection. It includes two patterns of paper and the ricrac.
I used Hollyhock, Olive, and Black Inks
Buttercup Marker. I used liquid glass to apply the ricrac.
I used a post-it note to mask off the green paper for my saying. Then I used a sponge dauber and olive ink to apply the darker green around the edges giving my saying that matted look. I added the tone on tone circles to the matte with the same small circle stamp that is the flower center.
When I did a similar project to this at a stamp show . . . everyone chose to tilt their saying. I have to admit, I liked theirs better! But since I stamped the leaf over mine, I won't me moving it on this card.

Scrapping Prom
One of the things I like most about stamping is the flexibility to make background papers and accents that are exactly what I want for my layouts. I want to stick to black and white for this layout since Kristine's dress was black. Close to My Heart has improved the white daisy pad. Now a pigment pad, it shows up beautifully on the black card stock. I'll use liquid glass to apply 'sparkles' to the center of the larger flowers. I'm waiting for a few more prints before I get start scrapbooking . . . but I'm pretty excited about these papers. I used B1215 for the words "best friends", "fun", and the two flowers. I used C1304 Sans Alphabet set to spell out "PROM 2008", and D1258 Friendship word puzzle for the word "laugh" . It's a good choice, because when this group of friends is together they spend a lot of time laughing!
